Welcome
Thanks for checking out I. Revolutionary, the first daily spin-off of Jack of All Blades. Since this comic takes place quite a few years after JAB, you don't need to read both, to enjoy either one, but I must recommend it if you're into being entertained.
For those of you interested in this sort of thing, the idea for this comic sprang from my discovery of Zach Lewis' Blog I, Revolutionary!. I thought, hell, that's an awesome name, because if that I wasn't a pronoun, it could stand for anything, like "ice cream," or "internet," or "industrial." I started kicking around the idea of doing a comic about a fantasy world transitioning from magic to technology, possibly as a Final Fantasy Six sprite comic, but after talking to Art Frederick, the creator of Jack of All Blades, we decided to do some universe building.
My headway into the project was frustrated by my lack of skills as an artist and my inexperience with the medium, and I decided to shelve the project for a while. Shortly thereafter, I joined Art and Sam on the Jack of All Blades team and started doing backgrounds, layout, and bubbling there, which kept my hands full for a good while.
Recently though, I've been taking a drawing class, and realized that I can do a hell of a lot better than I have been, I just need to invest the time to practice. The I. Revolutionary idea I'd been sitting on was the perfect springboard for me to get into the rhythm of drawing daily, and I started outlining the plot, characters, and world of the time in earnest.
This project will easily run from three to six months, and I'm sure I'm going to learn a lot in the process, skills I hope to bring back to Jack of All Blades. I guess I'll see where this takes me.
